Hello there! My name is Noor a born and raised Southern gal who is now living in Saudi Arabia with my family. My story is pretty crazy so listen up friends.
After high school I left my small town in east Tennessee and headed to Chicago (2001) to pursue my dreams in fashion design. I later on transferred to Atlanta, Georgia to be closer to my family. I had a lot of fun in school and made tons of friends many that I am still close with until this day. As time passed by my dreams seemed to have got off track and before I knew it I was married (2006) and was a mom (2007). About a year later my little family and I packed up and moved across the world to Saudi Arabia which was my husband’s country of birth. Now I am a stay at home wife and mother taking one day at a time and trying everything I can to vent my creative juices and not go crazy in this sometimes beautiful and yet crazy country that we now call home.
I have been freelance writing since 2010 for various online newspapers, zines and print magazines. I started my own freelance graphic design business in 2010 and at the end of 2011 I decided to run my graphic design business Blog Me Pretty from Etsy. So here are a few more questions about me that may help you get to know me a little bit more.
What kind of camera do you use? I use a Canon eos550D which I just got at the beginning of 2011. I really want to get a Polaroid though. I also would love to take photography class’s to really learn how to use it.
How did you get into graphic design? It’s actually pretty funny going to art school I knew tons of people who studied graphic design but back then I really had no idea what it was or what they did. It was not until I started blogging back in 2007 that I starting playing around with design. I can honestly say that graphic design is something that I love doing and that one thing I wish I would have discovered a lot earlier.
What countries have you been to? Before I got married I had never been outside of the United States and Canada. Traveling was always my one dream and my husband promised to show me the world. He has kept his word and took me to United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, Indonesia and Bali. Every year we keep going to a new destination.
Do you have any siblings? Yes, I have two younger brothers who are both in The United States Navy and live in Guam.
What is your favorite television shows? #1 is True Blood I am obsessed. I also like Sons of Anarchy, Pretty Little Liars, Jeresylicious, Glam Fairy, Big Rich Texas, Downton Abbey among many others.
What about movies? I like a lot of different movies but period dramas have always been my favorite such as anything wrote by Jane Austen.
