The other day we talked about a few blog no no’s so today let’s get to the blog yes’s.

Goodbye Anonymous

The way I see it is that you should never allow anonymous comments. It’s just a way for people who are to coward to say what they have to or to be negative. I have seen so much all hate all over the Blogosphere and people will always have some negative to say. If a person really has some sort of concern they should speak to you about it. If they are too lazy to sign up for Google connect then chances are they are too lazy to even comment so who cares? Just because someone else chooses to be a Debbie Downer in their life do not allow them to be negative in yours.

Comment Back

If you have a blog you should always reply back to each of your comments. It’s really rude when someone takes the time to comment and you do not even bother to at least say thank you.

About Me

An about me page on your blog is critical. If you do not want to allow readers to know who you are and what your blog is about then why do you have a blog in the first place? You do not have to tell your life story but something is better than nothing. I love finding out more about a blog writer when I come across a really good blog it just makes me love the blog that much more.

Sourcing Your Content

With sites like Tumblr, Pinterest and We Heart it things have got out of control with pictures and who they actually belong to. It’s not fair what so ever to the owner of the content that someone took it, then it’s being passed around the web and now you have it using it as if it’s your own. Regardless if it’s a recipes, article or picture always source where you got it from. If you’re not sure then you should do a picture look up.

Focused Features

Having features on your blog is a great way to have something planned for you and your readers. It could be weekly, bi-weekly or monthly just whatever you’re comfortable with. For example here at Little Pink Strawberries I have tried to have two features a week, one is Tuesday Ten where I post ten things and the other is Font Friday where I post a free font I love. You obviously want to a theme that goes well with your blog and what it’s about. I try to schedule those post because when I don’t I do not always get around to it.
